Information Security

The data stored in manual and electronic systems used by City University represent an extremely valuable asset, therefore it is necessary to ensure that these systems are developed, operated, used and maintained in a safe and secure fashion.

The objective of Information Security is to ensure business continuity and minimise damage by preventing and minimising the impact of security incidents. This is achieved by preserving an appropriate level of the following:-

  • Confidentiality data access is confined to those with specified authority to view the data
  • Integrity all system assets are operating correctly according to specification and in the way the current user believes them to be operating
  • Availability information is delivered to the right person, when it’s needed.

City University will seek to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of its information is maintained by implementing best practice to minimise risk.

You should familiarise yourself with the Information Security Policy

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to talk about any of the above.
